Trusted Healers is the best book on healthcare I have ever read. If you care about your future healthcare, pick up a copy of this book. Beautifully written, the stories provided by dozens of interviews with healthcare leaders around the world give great insight into what is important, how societies adapt healthcare to their culture, and what each of us should do to evaluate what direction we need to go as a nation. In an age of platforms and slogans, Trusted Healers is a breath of fresh air.

This is an outstanding, easy to read, description of the model that will ultimately be successful in healthcare. During 40 years in healthcare, i have participated in thee development of this model in two locales and know it to be effective and efficient. Most importantly, this model assures that mental health health needs will be addressed, an issue often ignored by a private practitioner. This is a must read for those wishing to develop or change to a proven, effective model It is also a good learning tool for patients wishing to understand how healthcare should be delivered. Patrick J. Kennedy is right. After reading Trusted Healers, you will never look at healthcare the same way again. This book takes us on a journey to understand why our healthcare is delivered the way it is and what is working well around the world. As our nation prepares to expand the debate about how to deliver healthcare in America, and who is allowed to receive care, this book can prepare each of us to examine our values and our history as a culture.
